This is an HBO Documentary Film and Academy and Emmy-Award winning Lightbox production in association with Jeff Friday Media and the American Black Film Festival. Thanks to the brilliant direction of Nailah Jefferson, this film emotionally and powerfully brings back to the world the incredible story of Donyale Luna. It celebrates her pivotal legacy in the history of fashion and visual arts. It is edited by Ed Perkins and produced by Melissa Kramer, Isoul Hussein Harris and Melanie Sharee. This film was made in collaboration with Luna’s daughter, Dream, and thanks to the archive of photos, videos and writings curated by her then husband, photographer Luigi Cazzaniga.
